Biographical/Historical note

Grover C. Young, a practicing attorney in the early to mid-20th century, was born in the late 19th century. He earned his law degree from John B. Stetson University in Florida and began practicing law in Virginia in 1933. His legal career spanned a period of significant social and political change in the region. He was married to Charleen Beller Young, an alumna of the State Teachers College at East Radford (now Radford University), where she graduated in 1929.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of three scrapbooks arranged by Grover C. Young chronically significant events in the United States of America during the 1930s-1940s. In addition, there are several letters related to Grover C. Young and his law career in Virginia and Florida and one photograph of Grover C. Young at age 36. Two annuals from State Teachers College of East Radford (Radford University) from the years 1928 and 1929 owned by Grover’s wife, Charleen Beller Young class of 1929.
