Her book of Appalachian folk stories, Witch In The Mill, is based on tales she collected in Southwest Virginia. Steve Helm, Dean of McConnell Library, received a Presidential Citation from Virginia Library Association President Connie Gilman. Helm was recognized for his service to the Virginia Library Association Council and his role as the VLA Webmaster from 1995 – 2011. During his tenure, he transformed the VLA web presence, developing new content and functionality including implementation [...] This month’s “Spotlight” feature is on Bruce Buskill, Information Systems Administrator at McConnell Library. About 30 people gathered on February 22nd to celebrate the 146th birthday of Radford University’s founding president, Dr. John Preston McConnell (pictured above). Dean of the Library Steve Helm introduced the event.
